Our appraisal work has been “court tested” in 3 states.  We have never had a court fail to accept and use our appraisals.

 Qualifications of Company Founder Max F. Hartle

  1. Born and raised on a general farming, dairying, and range livestock ranch in Northeastern Utah.
  2. Educated in the Uintah County School District.  Graduated from Union High School in 1960.
  3. Graduated from Utah State University in 1967 with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Education--putting myself through college.
  4. Taught Vocational Agriculture/FFA for Sevier School District from 1967-1972.  Honored by the State Office of Education & FFA Association as the outstanding Ag. Teacher in Utah in l972.
  5. Worked for the Farm Credit System for 17 years.  Served as a field man, appraiser, loan officer, Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager, Assistant Vice President, and Head Chattel Appraiser.  In the Head Chattel Appraiser job, I was asked to develop a chattel appraisal program & policy, train the staff, and implement the program in a manner to meet the ever-increasing requirements of the Farm Credit supervisory institutions; and to do it in a manner that would not bring any criticism to the system.  I am not aware of any criticisms of the appraisal department’s work during the time I served in this position.
  6. Have done chattel appraisal work in Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, California, Oregon, & Idaho on all kinds of “personal” property.
  7. Been involved in preparing appraisal work for litigation, and have testified as an "expert witness" in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah.  I have never had one of my appraisals rejected by a court.
  8. Have prepared appraisals for use in FmHA & SBA Guarantee loans, Rual Development loans, and Water Development loans.  Have done extensive research on water rights and water values in the State of Utah.
  9. At the request of the judge and attorneys involved, I have prepared appraisals accepted by both sides for use in divorce settlements without going through court hearing situations.  I’ve also prepared divorce settlement appraisals and testified in court on them.
  10. Am presently employed on a part time "contract" basis by the State/Federal Market News Service covering Producers Livestock Auction in Salina and also providing information concerning the Alfalfa Hay market in Southern Utah.
  11. Served as a Director of the Southern Utah Jr. Livestock Show for 20+ yrs, & served as President for a number of years.
  12. Was actively involved in a cow/calf livestock program from 1971 through 1986.  Also ran a small farming program during part of that time.
  13. Actively involved for many years in leadership positions in the Cattlemen's organizations, civic groups, church, etc.
  14. Served for 12 years on the Sevier School District Board of Education, and the Sevier Valley Area Vocational Center Board.
  15. Was honored by Utah State University in 1983 with their "Merit Citation" for outstanding leadership.
  16. Have participated over the years in many seminars, workshops, and training sessions on credit, appraisals, management, etc.
  17. Have been involved in management positions in private enterprise for many years.
